Introduction
These page gives an overview of the method of Participatory Media for (positive) Development
(PM4D).
Inspired in Participatory Video processes, PM4D extends deeper into the strengthening of communication capacities and adoption of group decision-making. The method
uses co-creation processes for storytelling and communication of messages using
media tools, such as photography, audio, and video.
2.
Method
& Objectives
PM4D incorporates
story-telling and communication skills with group decision-making for
portraying the community’s understanding of reality, their vision, needs and hopes. As a
co-creation process of what’s there to come.
The objective is to
facilitate a four-day process stimulating participants to interact and make
decisions about their different perspectives and common stories. Foreseeing, an adoption
of media tools for improved communication within and between communities and among all levels of the eco-sociological system.
The four days
are organised as below.

Translators
Translators receive a
chapter of its own because the appointment of human resources specifically for
translation, with careful selection of people with willingness to stay throughout the whole process and keep
his/hers objectivity, is crucial for smooth and successful facilitation.
